I work in the NHS, we have never had so many staff, problem is, for all those staff, many of which are hires from the 3rd world, the place is very unproductive, in fighting between different cultures, clanish. We got more done with half the staff 15 years ago. Granted the "footfall" wasnt quite so large, but then whata caused that? More of the same, filling the country with people we dont need. I remember a saying from somewhere that 75% of the work is done by 10% of the people. This applies greatly to the NHS.

  3. Nick speaks about vigilante groups doing what i suppose is "community policing". In many ways this goes on already in the "majority, minority areas". Calls for police to step back and let the "community" police matters. An example might be the Koran scuffing incident. Where that mother was coerced to submit to community justice. You might say "ah but what happened there wasnt a crime" ... in the eyes of these people it WAS, and they were allowed with subservience, tp have their day in the court of community policing and justice. This is by no means the only example.
