If the only thing it's doing in the name of 'defending' you is STARTING foreign wars, regime change operations and creating a brainwashing media, accepting bribes by the richest and totally ignoring the will of the people, that is not a government by or for the people. If your country is totally in decline because the supra rich are monopolizing EVERYTHING and you are sleeping in the streets because you can't get a job because they've been offshored and can't afford anything anymore, the Social Contract has been BROKEN and you are run by feudal lords who actually own your government and are making all the rules... that is Oligarchy not freedom.
