  2. Other than government jobs there are very few more stable full time jobs, too many are stuck in tempo-indeterminato. As everywhere else there are too many politically connected rich, while the youth is left waving their asses in the wind. All the youngsters who are bright and ambitious have to leave the country to get ahead because of that bureaucratic nonsense which holds them back from being entrepreneurs in their own country. 2008 was a massive killer of family owned businesses, thousands were left unemployed for years in my area (Veneto) and when they did eventually find work they were at lower wages than before, in fact in those years the average wage was 1,300eu/mo, which was low indeed for a country which used to be quite productive in manufacturing. Italy was also the victim of IMF/EU famous 'austerity' programs, which never hit the rich but only the avg. workers and small business owners... in the meantime corruption between the government and the higher echelons continued unabated and they both got richer.. while...... Italy was also another victim of the Soviet Unions collapse and the influx of east block countries in the north and was also invaded by the Chinese and their mega-factories so they could print Made in Italy on their labels while importing their own slave labor, which closed down many famous local garment factories... and the floating migrant populations trying to escape America's wars on their worlds by landing first in Italy also became a moral and financial burden that the rest of Europe simply complained about but the EU did nothing to help alleviate. It's complicated.... and I didn't even mention those worthless "Raccomandati" that same to gain entrance to well paying jobs through either bribery or 'connections', so of course no one wants to change anything in Italy... it's a gravy train just the way it is, for a few. 🙈🙉🙊 Evviva l' Italia
