@mijp 😕 I agree, but just one in all of America? Well unless you can find a home baker at a farmers market or you have the time and energy to make your own... but even that will never give you the variety you can enjoy everyday in Germany!

@mijp Yes, I'm originally from Northern California and would never leave SF without a loaf or 2 and miss it now that I'm parked here in Mexico (tho the weather is great) especially after living 25 years in Italy and traveling all around Europe ... I just have a really hard time getting even remotely excited about a tortilla. 🙁 Guess I'll have to start learning how to bake bread too.

German bread is wonderful, so much variety... there is a bread for every single foodie situation from morning to night! 🙂 Plus eating your main meal at lunchtime helps you lose weight, by not sleeping on a really heavy meal at night where it has all that time in the world to settle into those pesky fat cells.
