  1. The thing is that the Christians stole the solstice celebrations from the pagans who logically worshipped the natural seasonal changes of the planet in the northern hemispheres. There were times to sow and to reap, prepare for winter and to celebrate full larders during the darkest time of the year with a convivial feast of plenty they had garnered from their hard work with some sparkly candlelight and pine bows in gratitude for the much needed rest and another year of survival with family, friends and neighbors. 😉
