I believe the port, like the Kerch Bridge, is just out of range of the Storm Shadow. If Ukraine reaches the Sea of Azov, however, all bets are off.

Nasty spot of rust on the Carl Vinson.

@EternallyGod The US never WANTED to take and hold land in any of those conflicts. They wanted to ensure the inhabitants of those countries had control over their own nation. Unlike Russia, the US isn't in the business of stealing other people's countries and conquering them.

I am guessing one reason Turkiye is helping Ukraine is part of the "fallout" from Russia threatening to blow up the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
1
Anyone here on the channel wonder if the reason the Polish farmers seem to be relenting is because Poland has managed to round up most of the Russian agent provocateurs spreading false information?
1
I guess the Ukrainians got tired of harassing the Black Sea fleet.
1
If Ukrainian drones are cleaning up some areas of their Russian assets, are they performing some "Orel hygiene"?
1
Sure you can. You just have to be six feet above them.
1
Regarding Utkin, yes, he has Nazi Eagle tatoo on his chest.
1
Wouldn't be the first time that Moscow has lied about someone being alive. They first did this with Hitler.
1
Regarding Hungary. People might want to read up on how Hungary basically declared war on all its neighbors after it became an independent country after WW1. They lost, and as reparation Hungary lost quite a bit of territory. Some people, continuing to live in the past, want to get that land back. And extend their borders to any lands where Hungarian is spoken.
1
Exactly. Plus, the amount of fissile uranium in the mine is only 1% of the uranium present in the ore. Most ore bodies contain less than 1% uranium oxide in some form, so out of a metric tonne of ore, you would be lucky to get 100g of fissile uranium. Not a lot.
1
Enforcer, you neglected to mention the bridge collapse also cut the rail line and all rail traffic for a few days in this area.
1
Washington Post had an article admitting that some American missile battery units, donated to Ukraine by some conservative Protestants, have been destroyed. I guess they should give Ukraine some more Quaker HIMARS.
1
Is it a terrorist attack if you are at war with someone, and they attack your military facilities and not attacking civilians? Oh right, this is Russia, where anybody who is defending themselves is a terrorist.
1
The bulk of Belarussians don't want to help Russia. They are as much victims of this war, and Russian imperialistic ambitions, as the Ukrainians are. Had Russia not intervened in 2020, it is possible that Belarus would have evicted Lukashenko from power.
1
Of course they didn't pick up this drone on radar and shoot it down. It's not a Russian SU-35!
1
Sadly, I'm not surprised. There are people today who still think POLAND started World War 2, that it was American aggression in the Pacific that lead to Pearl Harbor (and Roosevelt knew it would happen and did nothing to stop it), and that Stalin and the communists were wonderful people. We still have a small communist party in Canada to this day. People have an appalling ability for being able to brainwash themselves into believing fallacies. You could tell them the facts and the truth until you exhaust yourself, but they will never believe you. Like the 30% or so of Germans who, in September 1945, still though Adolf Hitler had been a great leader. To use a somewhat vulgar expression, trying to tell these people the truth is "like casting pearls before swine."
1
YEs, I heard about the Russian frigate "Sir Cook-off" being set alight in Kaliningrad by Ukrainian infiltrators.
1
@MercurialStatic Lazerpig is a youtuber who makes some moderately profane videos about stuff.
1
11:42 Its a 12-sided die. Someone is obviously playing D&D in the sky.
1
I think the issue is that the EU politicians still don't know how to deal with a psychopath. They got so used to peace and potential development of a democracy in Russia that they don't want to face the fact that their window for creating a better Russia died in 2000, when Putin took over. They have been afraid to face facts, because it means they lose their peace dividend and have to rearm, things that they didn't want to do. They just keep hoping that someone will overthrow Putin and resolve the issue. They are only now waking up to the fact that the entire Kremlin elite are imperialistic psychopaths, not just Putin.
1
The US pause in military aid is extortion and blackmail, but not unexpected, sadly.
1
It is a false flag. If there were more than half a dozen drone present, that helicopter would have gone down. In addition, the description of the drones is that they were "aircraft types", which suggests the long range drones used against ground targets. So, right there is shows the Russian report is fake.

The other reason for Russia taking over Crimea in 2014 and fomenting unrest in the Donbass was to prevent Ukraine from accessing the huge oil and gas reserves that exist in this area. Russia relies heavily on oil and gas revenues. If Ukraine started competing with them as a member of the EU (or with strong economic ties to Europe), it would have undermined Russia's foreign revenue stream and hurt their economy. Since the EuroMaidan Revolution in the winter of 2013-2014 resulted in the expulsion of the pro-Russian government in Kyiv, Putin decided he couldn't risk Ukraine becoming a member of the EU and Europe's principle supplier of oil and gas. Developing these reserves would not have taken huge influxes of cash either, since the bulk of the infrastructure is already present and currently underutilized. So, since it was obvious that Russia wouldn't be able to take over Ukraine through political manipulation and supporting puppet regimes (like Belarus), they resorted to force to halt Ukraine's development of their own oil and gas industry.
1
The only plus side I can see from this is it would speed up the economic and reconstruction efforts in Ukraine. But that is the only silver lining to this.
1
I am betting that we will only know that the F-16s have arrived is when we see an uptick in Russian aircraft losses. It is possible that they jets are already heading to Ukraine. This is the pattern we have repeatedly seen with other weapons systems, like M-777s, HIMARS, StormShadow, Patriots, etc.
1
Hope they removed his gauntlets. Snap!
1
But providing Ukraine with a MAP (membership action plan) would give Russia more propaganda ammunition. Also, why tip your hand before you have to show it? There is nothing to say that NATO can't just suddenly give Ukraine membership as soon as the war ends. THAT would shock the Russians no end!
1
The real issue is, in large part, due to Japanese nationalism and their fixation on having a relatively pure Japanese society. This means that immigration is very low, and so cannot counter the effects of smaller families.
1
@tudvalstone You mean that bombing hospitals, apartment buildings, train stations and refugee centres is showing concern for Ukrainian civilians? Setting up torture chambers for civilians (including children) and shooting people carrying groceries is caring for the local population? Seriously?
1
@mrb.9822 However, if the GOP win the White House, NO aid will go to Ukraine. So, don't attack the refineries and have the Dems win, or attack them and have the GOP win.
1
Moscow is implementing a carpet plan for the airports. So, they are laying wall to wall on the runways? Astroturf on the taxiways? Considering the stupid things Russia has done this war, I wouldn't be surprised.
1
I suspect this is probably why Kazakhstan is cozying up to China.
1
@ChodaStanks So I guess the two North Koreans who were captured by the Ukrainians recently weren't on the front lines?
1
And what are we supposed to do against the most sanctioned states in the world, both of whom have nukes? Invade them?
1
Ukraine showed back in 2022 that they are masters of maneuver warfare. They dance rings around the Russians when they are in open territory.
1
Matt, I suspect that the reason why the newly formed brigades are being sent to Kyiv is because they can safely train in that area, and free up the veteran units currently defending Kyiv for front line service or to act as combat-ready reserves near the front.
1
Let's face it, ANYTHING one of the western countries does is called a belligerent act by NATO. If Luxembourg sent a box of chocolates to Zelensky then Putin would call it "an unwarranted provocation by the western powers."
1
I think I may have started a trend on the Suchimimus channel by calling the frigate the "Sir Cook-off".
1
I suspect that high levels of combat sorties, maintenance issues and lack of spare parts is catching up with the Russians.
1
Problem is they would have had to start training on Mirages almost 2 years ago to be ready to deploy them this year. And the maintenance crews would also need training.
1
Elements of the Golden Dome being in orbit would not be the first violation of the treaty against weaponizing space. The USSR mounted a weapon on one of their early space station to shoot down satellites.
1
@jarosawgorny5688 Actually, by treaty (signed with the US and UK), Kaliningrad was officially signed over to Russia in 1945 as part of war reparations.
1
@EnforcerOfficial Could just be a local counterattack, or part of a larger attack to relieve the pressure on Avdivka. Guess we will see.
1
@saumyacow4435 I agree. Add in the fact that a lot of the tanks in storage that are still useable will need weeks, if not months, to be brought up to combat readiness, and it becomes apparent that Russia is suffering from a tank shortage. And likely a shortage of crews to man them.
1
I would be more concerned about flood waters around the region of Kyshtym/Mayak/Ozyorsk, site of a Russian nuclear meltdown. Also of concern in that area is Lake Karachay and the areas near the Maiak plutonium plant. Also, the nuclear contaminated area around Seversk (Tomsk-7) in Russia, 15km north of the city of Tomsk, is being flooded, potentially releasing liquid nuclear waste. [Source: The Independent Barents Observer "Expert fears flooded radioactive dump sites could leak to river system that flows into Arctic Ocean"]. So, the uranium mine being flooded is not a concern. Russia nuclear waste and accident sites in the regions near Chelyabinsk and Tomsk are of major concern.
1
@coreysteeegs8255 If I recall, you can only veto a bill BEFORE it is signed, not after. Once it is signed it is law, and therefore must be voted on in Congress.
1
The British did a study on whether or not the Allies could take on the Soviet Union in 1945, and the answer was NO! Look up Operation Unthinkable.
1
Why make a decoy Russian ZU-23? I can understand D-20s, MSTA-S, T-90s, etc. But a ZU? That's rather like making a decoy AK-74.
