  1. I had a friend who worked in meat packing plants. He told me that in Canada meat was NEVER allowed to hit the floor. If it fell off the hook in the cooler and fell on the floor, they disposed of it. In the US, if a side of beef dropped onto the floor, they would pick it up out of the blood and other "stuff" (including guts and faeces), spray it with water and continue processing it. The US has CRAPPY health and safety standards. That's why no one wants US beef or poultry. Not to mention feeding them palm hearts, giving them tons of hormones and antibiotics, etc.
