I am not so sure about this video. The reason is that the initial part shows a grenade being dropped on the crew of the artillery piece as it is being set up, and it appears they head into the woods. But the part showing the artillery bombardment at the 1:10 minute mark is of a highway cloverleaf that does not appear in the first part of the video at the 1:00 minute mark. Whether or not the artillery unit shown in the first minute of the video were actually destroyed or not is not clear, but the second part of the video appears to be completely unconnected to the first part. In the first part of the video, the unit is in a field, then it appears they head into a forested area with a large section of brown (plowed?) land next to it. You can see what appears to be artillery rounds hitting the brown earth, but not the forested area. But the next image showing an artillery barrage has no brown ground in it. The area next to the woods is a paved highway. So did they actually destroy the unit, or is this just a propaganda video made to look like Russia scored a success? I would be nice to see all the uncut and unspliced drone footage to determine the truth. Watch the video carefully and see if you agree.

@blephaous244 Probably both US and USSR equally. Although I would add that most US war crimes tend to be unintentional, whereas Soviet/Russian one are most definitely intentional. That is the difference. The US response tends to end up being "the way to hell is paved with good intentions", while Russia's response is "I don't care as long as I win".

@arcane3464 I didn't say they worked out well, just that their intentions were to try and improve things (in many cases, not all). One big problem the US seems to have is that they have no plan for rebuilding infrastructure, nor do they have an exit strategy. They just blunder around, then shrug and say, "We fixed your problem" and leave. That said, many of their interventions between 1945 and 1990 occurred as a result of Russian meddling and subversion. Again, not all - you have to look at each on a case by case basis. But most were done to prevent the malevolent subversive spread of communism. And one should note that since the USSR collapsed, communist guerilla insurgencies worldwide have all dried up. Wonder why.

So, who do we have left? Andorra? Luxembourg? San Marino? What country has not committed war crimes over the last 500 years? And who do you compensate? After all, much of what you are saying was also done reciprocally. Sounds nice in theory, but how would you put it in practice?

@Nikolay_Grigoryev But, that still does not indicate the howitzers were destroyed, as the briefing suggested. Yes, the first part of the video shows an attack by a drone on an artillery position as it is being set up. And it is likely that some of the crew for one of the howitzers may have been injured or killed, but a grenade would not destroy a piece of equipment like that. I am not saying the video is fake, just that using it to say the howitzers were destroyed is completely misleading.

And if there is a patch of mud on the bottom the crew does ... what?

@SlimyPasta And never mind the mess that the USSR made of the world. It is really rather one-sided. That is my point. Tons of people like to point fingers at the US, but seem to turn a blind eye to the USSR/Russia's even worse record. The USSR pillaged Eastern Europe after WW2, and it is because of the fact that Russia did not abide by their post-war agreements and tried to overthrow democracy using subversion is part of the reason the world is in a mess. Not the whole story, mind you. France and Britain carving up the Middle East for their own purposes after WW1 also contributed. But it is this lopsided argument that annoys me.

@SlimyPasta Let's see. How about the Korean War, where Russian pilots flew the MiGs and operated the tanks. They also exacerbate the situation in Vietnam by not telling the North Vietnamese to wait for South Vietnam to collapse on its own accord. Or how about the invasion of Hungary in 1957. Or the suppression of Czechoslovakia in 1968. Or suppressing Poland in the 1980s. Are you going to use the excuse that it was "in their sphere of influence"? Or the number of terrorist organizations and revolutionaries they promoted and supported for over 40 years. Soviet Russia has a long and storied history of deflecting blame for its own actions. Don't buy into it. I won't disagree with you on Central and South America. It is a major blot on their record. In the 1920s and 1930s it was about supporting companies like Dole, hence the term "Banana Republic". In the 1950s to 1980s it was to stop Communist expansion. You should also note they haven't done any of this since the collapse of the USSR. By the way, I am not a racist. I believe in equal rights for all, and am just as appalled by war crimes committed by the US in Syria as I am by those committed by Russia in the same country. I don't know where you get off saying I am a racist when you don't know the first thing about me.

@Nikolay_Grigoryev About artillery in trees. The Americans who fought in the Hurtgen Forest and the Ardennes know all about that.

@annoyed707 Did a quick online check, and was surprised to see at least one US Army veteran of the Battle of the Bulge is still alive and kicking. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHEIaqDhoz0 It is possible there are more in the approximately 300,000 WW2 vets in the US. I remember when they filmed "Band of Brothers" a fair number of the 101st soldiers were still alive at that time. But you are right, the vast majority are no longer with us.

So, it is OK to be on the human rights council and deliberately bomb schools and hospitals? Shoot unarmed civilians with their hands up and be recorded over the radio saying things like "We should kill them all"? Shell buildings that are clearly marked with a sign that says "children"? Attack refugees at train stations? And how many more atrocities are going to occur while you are trying to investigate things that are already confirmed?
1
@wisdombites3586 What planet do you come from? There is incontrovertible evidence of hospitals being bombed, refugee shelters being targeted, civilians being shot (the drone footage of one family being killed was released early in the war, and the car is still there!), Mariupol being reduced to rubble, and you say there is no evidence? There is a TON of footage showing war crimes. The Russians even announced striking three railway stations with munitions a couple of days ago, then withdrew it as soon as they were told that they killed 50 civilians evacuating by train. And have since denied they did it. Wake up!

@avdhutpawar1545 WHAT national security issue? There WAS NO national security issue until Russia INVADED Ukraine! Stop making puerile excuses supporting an imperialistic, expansionistic ultra-nationalist regime. Try reading up on Russkiy Mir and "Foundations of Geopolitics" before making ridiculous statements like this. Read the history of Ukraine, and about the attempts by Russia to Russify all the places they tried to absorb. Russia is the AGGRESSOR, and is playing the victim, rather like a mugger claiming that they only attacked their victim because they were staring at them. Why did Poland, Czechia and Hungary all plead to join NATO in the 1990s, even to the point of feting the Republicans so they could essentially blackmail Clinton into allowing them to join? Why did almost all the former Soviet bloc nations join NATO shortly after? Because they know what Russia is like, and had been under the iron boot of Russia (aka Soviet Union) for 45 years. They were also familiar with Russia's rapacious nature, and they want protection from it.
