The whole Kyoto Accord was a sham anyway. It did not address the MOST IMPORTANT ISSUE - we need to reduce the amount of hydrocarbons we burn and work out ways to make concrete without having it release CO2 into the atmosphere. The whole "Carbon Credits" concept was a facade to enable countries with large forests to continue consuming hydrocarbons at an exorbitant rate, claiming the forests would soak it up. This was nonsensical, because forests are already part of the carbon cycle and already at capacity. It is rather like having a self-contained fountain that recycles water through a pump, but we insist on adding water using a garden hose and then wonder why the basin the fountain sits in is overflowing. We need to stop ADDING CO2 to the system, and more importantly, an economic way to fix excess carbon into a stable form that can be sequestered and stored. THAT is how you fix the global warming issue.

FYI, there is a really good video by Caspian Report on the issues with changing over to green energy "Net Zero by 2050 is not happening".
