Why not do Project 2025? That is a way more relevant threat to democracy and freedom than a fringe group and people who are concerned about racial abuse by law enforcement officers. I'm not American, but I can see the threat Project 2025 presents to ALL Americans - it is the Mein Kampf of the ultra-conservatives.

There is. They had a show on 10 years ago called "Ice Cold Gold". In the final season, the geologist found an oil seep, in addition to the gold, rubies and garnets they found. I'm betting that Trump saw this show and has dreams of megabucks dancing in his head.

What this video clearly shows is that this election is between the Democrats and the Cult of Trump. The fact that these people are here only for Trump, and cannot see a future without Trump, proves it. The GOP and what it supposedly stands for doesn't even matter to these voters. The GOP backed Trump because they realize they have no policies that attract voters, they have no plan, only worn-out empty rhetoric. The GOP gutted itself of many of the moderates with morals and ethics who could have built a future for their party in an attempt to win the extremist right-wing pseudo-Christian MAGA vote. Now they find that without a populist leader like Trump to rally that fringe group, they have nothing. They have destroyed their future for a desperate grab for power and domination. And the RNC knows it. And on a sub-conscious level, so do these voters. After all, what would the Nazi party have been without Hitler, or the Fascists without Mussolini?

Ironically enough, the Greek mathematician Eratosthenes proved the Earth was a globe back around 200BC. The Christian Church accepted the world was a sphere, hence why many monarchs carry an orb in one hand during coronations. The orb represents their power on Earth. The reason why Columbus did not receive support for his expedition across the Atlantic in the 1490s was NOT because people thought the world was flat, it was because they realized Columbus got his calculations for the size of the Earth (he underestimated it) and the distance from Europe to East Asia wrong (he made the land mass of Asia too large). They figured he would run out of food and water mid-trip and die mid-ocean. Fortunately for Columbus, two entire continents lay in his path.

@chinablues3415 I guess the Chinese who religiously followed Mao Zedong were Caucasian then? Or the Arabs who followed Mohammed in the 600s? Or the Mau Mau in Kenya? Or the Moonies? Or the Aum Shinrikyo? Or the Japanese during WW2 who fanatically died for their Emperor? I could go on, but I hope you get the picture that this phenomenon occurs worldwide in all cultures. All you need is a bunch of people who are empty of purpose and a charismatic leader to wind them up.

Exactly. That is, sadly, the result of people liking the veneer of Christianity but not learning about it and living its message. The Evangelical movement has basically turned going to church to hear the Word of God into attending a feel-good pep rally. Many of the "pastors" tell their congregations what they want to hear, not what they NEED to hear. In a crisis, I don't know how many of these people would pick up their crosses and follow Christ to Calvary. I think it is telling that a pastor in one of these churches read the "Sermon on the Mount" and spoke about it during mass. Afterwards, he was approached by members of the congregation who asked him not to teach this liberal stuff, and it was something not needed in the modern world! The Christian Nationalist movement has done nothing to create a Christian nation. All it has succeeded in doing is creating the 21st Century's version of the Pharisee.

The only way that would have worked is if the WHO and all countries in the world had isolated China back in December 2019 or January 2020. All international travel and flights would had to have been suspended until the epidemic had ceased. Once it got out of China, all bets were off because of international travel and the virus' incubation period. The whole idea with the quarantine was not to stop the epidemic, but buy time until a cure or remedy could be found. HOWEVER, you are right that all those individuals who didn't shutter their businesses and stay home, or get their vaccinations after a remedy was found, made the whole situation far worse than it should have been.

The seven deadly sins are a Greek pagan creation. But from what I can tell Trump has been unrepentant when breaking Commandments 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. I think he honored his father and mother, but if he didn't that is breaking Commandment 4. So, I guess the only thing he hasn't done is murder. As far as we know.

When you talk about a two-tiered justice system, I think you are referring to a double standard. Trump is a conservative that you appear to support so he cannot possibly be guilty, while Joe Biden must be guilty because he is liberal and is campaigning against Trump. It is the same type of hypocrisy that allowed people like Hitler, Mussolini and Lenin into power. All three were crooks: Hitler and Mussolini were violent insurrectionists, while Lenin was an insurrectionist who used proceeds from bank robberies committed by Stalin to fund the Communist Party. I will also add to this list the junior army officers who assassinated government officials in Japan in the late 1920s and early 1030s to promote their imperialistic superiors. In all four cases, everyone papered over their crimes because "these people are patriots", and allowed tyrants to take over their country. And if you know your history you know where that got us.

Because they attend pep rallies led by people who are telling them what they want to hear. They cannot be bothered to read the truth because that might upset their feelings of superiority. After all, do you think one of these people would actually follow the word of Jesus, who said "whosoever will be first among you, shall be the servant of all"?

What surprises me is that more Democrats don't point out what James Talerico does, that the majority of the Democratic platform is Christian in origin. Problem is that there are far too many people with the hypocritical Pharisaical approach to Christianity around these days - people who talk like they are Christians, but whose actions demonstrate they are not. Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit, and the evil tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can an evil tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit, shall be cut down, and shall be cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits you shall know them." (Matthew 7: 15-20).

One T-shirt I always wanted to get has a photo from the late 1800s of a group of First Nations (native American) peoples armed with rifles with the slogan, "Homeland Security: Fighting terrorism since 1492". At least in Canada we are starting to own up to what we did and are trying to make amends for our treatment of the original inhabitants of these lands. It will take time, but we are going in the right direction.

@phaedrapage4217 I think the reason the Founding Fathers didn't include a stipulation that a criminal could not be President is because they knew that legally THEY were all criminals. If you think about it, they had committed treason against the British Crown by plotting and carrying out a rebellion. Not only that, but many of them, such as John Hancock, had engaged in smuggling and other illegal activities. Many had also engaged in tax evasion. Seen through that lens, in their own minds, writing a clause in which no one who had committed illegal activity could hold the post of President (or any other senior executive position) would have prevented ANY of the founders of the US to hold any government office. If nothing else, at least the founders of the US had the GUTS and MORALS to admit they had technically committed crimes, even if the charging agency was the British Crown, a governing authority they no longer answered to. Guts and morals is something that is seriously lacking in the current GOP. The majority of people who had both qualities have long since left.
