I haven't seen this argument. I've only ever seen liberals argue that officers shouldn't be dealing with mental health crises which I 100000000% agree with. My younger brother is a police officer and I'm 1000000000% sure we're on the same page that he wants to handle the criminals he can handle. Liberals are saying that in the case of Sonya Massie, for example, there should've been a mental professional called after they figured something was off. In the first few moments when they meet and converse with Sonya they agreed something seemed strange about her. That's how they entered her house in the first place. I'm saying that police officers are not equipped to know what they are dealing with when it comes to mental disorders.

@Jeremiah-hq5dy that was the whole goal of the movement 🤷🏾♀️. Once you get past the name to their actual ideas, they are advocating for the same reallocation you're talking about so police outfits around the country could bring in mental health and disorder professionals. There are other countries that have done something similar that is working for them (Switzerland, Scotland). We can't have nice things here because we fight over the dumbest things....

@Em022 I also don't like the Trump flip flop -- I'm not a fan of Trump at all -- but also reserve the right for people to change their minds too. We, in return, have the right to believe them or not 🤷🏾♀️

@Em022 yep I've followed the feedback and fallout since 2016. As someone that had to look back at my hood and give critical feedback to make things better, I can tell you that that often happens. Your community may hate you for trying to get out and then telling the truth about why the areas continues to be depressed economically. It actually gave me a lot of empathy because it's super clear that poor people in America, black white and all colors, always get the short end of the stick. I understand that his folks may not be happy with what they feel like is exposing them....but honestly, you read the book and can't help but respect the guy. He did just what you ask a poor kid from Brooklyn or Applachia to do and it's really really really hard for a kid to do that. So I kind of hate that politics gets so petty like this. The right may not like Kamala and the left may not like JD, but danggit literally the trajectory of both of their lives, one of an immigrant's daughter and a poor white kid in the Bible Belt, is quite remarkable. Talk about the American Dream. But "sides" get in the way of people seeing the obvious. It's a really sad state of affairs...

@Just_a_Reflection yall be speaking on behalf of God so wrong and loud😂. Of course God sees ethnicity and color, because he made them all as the great artist. Just because society has run amok doesn't mean we all revert to not having eyes and ears. I've traveled the world alot for work and there is so much beauty in major and minor cultures around the world, including ours as American. It's a referendum on how far our country has fallen, that people on THIS SIDE of the political spectrum feel like making any distinction about their family heritage makes them un-American. That's just a lie. Kind of sad to see you immediately shirk back and cow tow because someone didn't like your speech. Meanwhile, alot of these folks are the same ones egging on someone like Candace Owens to have people with the most egregious speech about race on her platform. Just go read the comments 😂. The same people who find random things to pick on with "people of color" are the same ones backing up the n-word girl and acting like they've never identified as "white" their whole lives lol. Sure "people of color" sounds silly....but race as a whole is a social construct so all of these terms follow the exact same rules: OBVIOUSLY no one is the COLOR OF white, black, red, or yellow. But OF COURSE, when you're looking for anything to make a fuss about, you feel the need to critique a person of color for using a general term (maybe you didn't want to specifically call out your race...could literally be any number of reason). This is why we'll continue to struggle in this country. Sad.

Another Black American here...love JD Vance. I actually read his book in 2016 and loved it, unlike most of conservatives who just learned about him recently lol. But politics is not about cult of personality. I prefer progressive policies (especially around paid family leave) because I am planning for a family. But JD Vance and the party is stuck on "childless cat ladies"....that is literally most women in America until they get married and settled down 😂 unless you'd prefer single mamas so at least I'm a single cat lady that has a child, right? I won't be voting for him in November 😂, but I do believe he and his wife Usha are wonderful and normal people....very much unlike Trump.

I'm sure you really thought that comment through and thought it was going to be a winner lol. To answer your question (because apparently you've been under a rock??), MANY of us call ourselves person or people of color. If you want to litigate why "whyte" people aren't actually the color and why "blyck" people arent actually the color, then God help you find someone that has the patience to understand what a social construct is lol... Meanwhile, we have bigger fish to fry. How does it feel to be in the comments making inconsequential comments like the point you made above? I swear something is going on with conservatives...yall used to have some sense 😂
