  1. The marks left on sperm whales are not usually from their beaks, but their tooth/claw lined suckers on their tentacles and arms. They cut into the blubber of the whale when they attach to it. They also sometimes yes bite the whale with their beaks but most of the marks you see on sperm whales are from their suckers. Their big eyes most likely allow them to see very faint light in the pitch black darkness down there as a bigger iris = better low light sensitivity. They don’t have any zoom vision most likely no like you said.
