  1. The man is a hero. And that for many reasons. But from my background in the armed forces, you are taught to save others but not when your own life is in grave danger in doing so. Its immense amounts of bravery and heroism, but the logic being that teaching is that if the consequences are such that the risks of loosing two lives instead of one, one should always choose the least lives lost. In this situation they managed to save the people in distress, but he died in the process. In my mind that teaching does not apply here then. But there is an argument for him not doing it. Not saying i wouldn’t have done the exact same. RIP. Kazuki Takahashi.
