They also sometimes yes bite the whale with their beaks but most of the marks you see on sperm whales are from their suckers. Their big eyes most likely allow them to see very faint light in the pitch black darkness down there as a bigger iris = better low light sensitivity.   257. I actually just did a build in the DAN A3 and i gotta say i really like that case. I put a 9800X3D with an Arctic LF3 360 cooling it. Also used the Lian Li EDGE 850 PSU and my god did that fit nicely in there. I did have to "modify" one of the fans on the radiator (cut off a corner) because it interfered with the MB VRM's of course... other than that, it was an amazing experience. The LF3 has a unusually thick radiator and standard size fans (not slim like the A12x15's) so i think normal sized radiators will fit, depending on their said size of course and your MB VRM's size.

The XR has the A12B, and the S10e has either the snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820, and the benchmarks say exactly what i expected. The A12B has better per clock performence and a little bit more efficient power delivery, but the 855/9820 has better multi-core performence and render curve performence.The speakers, which i've personally tested, are deffinatly better on the S10e, especially with the new Dolby Atmos feature. The apple support, which i have more than enough experience with now at this point, is not better than on samsungs side, not speaking for all android brands, and the support, if you read a little bit deeper than the surface, is not that covering as they want you to belive. What you mean with the S10e/S10/S10+ allmost not getting the newest android firmware i don't know. The experience from IOS to OneUI is not much if anything. The only times you notice any difference is when you use apps not optimized for both operative systems. Having to jailbreak your phone to acchive basic customization is just sad. When i jailbreaked my iPhone, the only thing that happened was it started randomly crashing and it drained a ton more battery. So was the case with two of my other firends.

  469. All this talk about the danger of having only one engine makes me a bit angry. Modern jet fighter engines dont tend to flame out or fail, they have some of the highest reliability statistics of all aeroplane engines. Fighter pilots aren't worried about only having a single engine, because they trust and rely on the people who make it and maintain it. If a engine fails on a modern jet fighter, chances are it would fail violently, thus causing a potential 2nd engine failiure anyway. Not only does a single engine save weight it saves costs and maintanance hours. The F-16 for example has only 1 class A incident with engine related causes, while the F-15 for example has 3. And if you, as you said in the video, are in a F-35, you would never bee in such a situation where as you could have your engine damaged by ground fire for example. Not because its not capable of doing so, but because there is no point.

  635. The thing with the J-20 is yes, it is a much more "recent" development, but it still lags behind its main competitors (The US and their 5th gen industry) by many years in many categories. Its also true that one of the J-20's strengths is in its numbers, but that only applies to it vs the F-22 (and Su-57 if you want to count that in as well). The F-35's production numbers by now far exede what the J-20 has to show for itself. The only thing the J-20 is a real threat to is against force multipliers with huge RCS's and slow, un-manoeuvrable airframes. I.E. AWACS platforms like the E-3, tankers like the KC-135, MPA's like the P-8. and transports like the C-17. This isn't even down to the J-20 itself for the most part, but due to the new missiles China is fielding, with supposed super long ranges and very high top speeds. Yes it helps that the J-20 is somewhat LO, meaning it can approach to a closer launch range in the first place while retaining first shot capability, but even then there are so many factors at play that i don't see it as a particular super threat or something of the like. A bit like how over hyped hypersonic missiles are/were.

The Tornado can only carry 900kg more payload than the F-35, and will at that point be much slower than it for example. And the F-35 will not have less fuel when taking off from carriers, i dont know where you got that from. If you also think the F-35 would underpreform in WVR combat you would be very wrong to think so. The Royal Navy btw cant have F-35C's because of their decision to not use catapults and arresting wires.

That is in a pure BVR air to air setup.The F-35 can't carry missiles like the AIM-9X internally as these types of weapons operate differently to the AMRAAM's. Their rocket motors fire instantly, meaning that have to clear the launch platform immediately. This is currently not possible with how the F-35 is laid out internally. The F-22, for example, achieves this by having its AIM-9's mounted on angled prongs that come out when the F-22 opens its side weapons bays, allowing the missile to clear the F-22 safely. F-35's are most often seen flying with traditional wing tip pylons carrying the AIM-9X. These pylons aren't really traditional as they're particularly stealthy, a requirement as they of course wished for the ability to carry short range heat seeker missiles and at the same time preserve the oh so important feature of stealth. These pylons do of course increase the F-35's RCS somewhat, but not by too much and especially not compared to legacy systems. The future upgrades of the F-35 will see its internal carrying capacity, for AIM-120's specifically, increase from 4 to 6, the same number as the F-22. We might see some future developments that allow for the internal carry of shorter range WVR/heat seeking missiles, or as mentioned here, smaller but as effective replacements for medium/long range missiles that increase their internal carrying capacity to 8/12.

If the standard 5.56 isnt enough, use something like a green-tip. The 5.56 is just a more practical round than 7.62 in my opinion. Yes the 7.62 round has more "stopping power" but it travels slower, is heavier, doesent penetrate armour as well as the 5.56 and is just generally not used by NATO countries as a standard rifle round.

  2244. I myself am a huge fan of the F-35. The F-35 is the future, but personally i dont think the A-10 should be scraped. The A-10's original job was to blow up soviet tanks, which it was very good at back in the day, but with modern tanks its not so good anymore. The A-10's role has changed to counter insurgency, terrorism and supression. Which its extremely good at, but the A-10 wouldnt stand a chance against a "modern" enemy. Sofisticated SAM's and AA, SPAA would shoot this slow low flying plane down easily. But the fact of the matter is that the the likelihood of a conflict between the US and any modern enemy with sofisticated anti air capability is much smaller than a conflict with for example a terrororganisation like ISIS. And if the day comes and the US gets involved in a conflict against a modern adversary, just dont send in the A-10's, atleast not in the beginning.

The A-10 isnt getting overhauled, its getting a longer service life due to congress not retiering it before maybe 2040, the airframes have limited lives and they might prove to be too expensive both to maintain and overhaul. I'm not saying the F-35 has the same wing area as the F-15, not at all, what i'm saying is that the F-35 at the same time has less drag and mass than the F-15 and that helps counteract the "lack" of wing area. I'm only taking the words from the people who designed the F-15 and F-35,that in theory, the F-35 is supposed to be able to do so. I'm also talking about the F-35 in the attack role. The F-35 has 4 internal pylons, and 6 external pylons, that's only 1 less than the A-10 and it has a higher max payload weight as well. The GAU-22 IS more accurate than the GAU-8, by quite a lot actually, which shouldn't be surprising considering the GAU-8 fires faster, is older and has more recoil. What the GAU-22 lacks in kinetic energy due to the caliber, it makes up in the round it fires, which is the APEX. And the F-35's "attack height" can be just as low as the A-10 if it needs to, the point is it doesn't need to be. And yes i agree with you that a plane like the A-10, which is slow and flies low, two engines will increase your chances of survival, this was never my point, my point is that in modern threat scenarios, and with modern tactics, having one engine doesn't effect your survive ability nearly as much as the planes of the past.

When i say loosing an engine i dont mean it in the way of a compressor stall or something that "weak", im talking about if something for example is sucked into the engine, the engine is shot or anyting of that nature. When something like that happens, chances are the engine will catch fire and explode. The F-35's choice of doctrine to not get in harms way if it doesent need to is not because it cant or because it has a single engine, but because of the unnecessary risk of loosing a pilot. The pilots safety is the most important factor. Why put someone in harms way when there is absolutely no reason to. The F-35 can take a beating if it has to, its designed around the same principles as the F-15, mainly a FBD, meaning that it can loose part of or most of a wing and still be able to fly back home. Yes alot of A-10 survive a hard beating, but some also go down, this is what we want to prevent with stand off tactics. The GAU-8 was also designed to take out tanks, but it is no longer able to do that with modern tank armour. Sure its effective against a non technologically advanced oponent, but against any modern military, its screwed.

  2299. i clearly dont understand planes or weapons? ok. The F-35 might be smaller than the F-15 but it still has the same principle aerodynamics. Its weight, drag and wing area is like having a miniature F-15, and yes it does need alot of computers to keep it "stable" and that because it was designed to do so. Every modern fighter aircraft is designed to be aerodynamically unstable. That doesn't change things, if the F-35 was to loose part of a wing, the computers would help counteract that instability. The same way a pilot with less computer power at his disposal would. So saying the GAU-22 is more capable than the GAU-8 is insane? when the GAU-22 is much newer, much more accurate, has a slower rate of fire making it save a lot of ammunition, you don't need more than 3300 rounds pr. minute, and it fires APEX rounds which have better penetrating capability and explosive capability than the GAU-8. Having 5 more mm doesn't matter much, actually it just makes you carry less ammunition. The F-35 "only" having 188-225 shells is more than any Russian block fighter and if the pilot is skilled enough he can make good use of those rounds, the GAU-22 being more accurate as well. For that matter, the A-10's GAU-8 is used far less than normal dumb or JDAM bombs anyway.

The F-35 has also never fought against Eurofighter's in mock exercises, at least not yet, and if it was to do so, it would loose like any other 4th gen legacy fighter. Especially when the Eurofighter is about on par with F-15E. Pretty simple, when the F-35 dominates the F-15E, and the Eurofighter is about on par with the F-15E, what good is it going to do?

There are many cases of penetrations from chemical energy warheads especially to the side hulls of armored vehicles that have resulted in both casualties and immobilization of the vehicle, especially from ambushes. So you can never fully rely on that fact.

You also have exercises like Red Flag in which real modern radars are tested against stealth aircraft like the 35 and 22 and the results are pretty much the same every time. The weapons which the F-35 can deploy are for that matter long enough range that the 35 can be safe even without needing its stealth capability as much when it employs standoff weapons in that way.
