You have to be aware of zoning and regulations wherever you buy land. Sometimes you only have 90 days that you can stay in an RV while you build out a home. Or you can only camp on the land for so many weeks/months a year. Always check for restrictions and allowances. It's not just as easy as buying a lot and parking on it all year. You have to think about water, electric, sewer or septic, etc. Look for "farms and ranches" when searching for land. They usually have less restrictions because they're almost always rural. Having mineral rights is ideal. Even if you're allowed to drill a well, remember that it's very expensive to do so. And if you don't have a well then you need to haul in water or buy property that has water running through it or has a spring.
