With all due respect, I can only imagine that you get most of your news from the MSM, Carol. The President Elect has repeatedly said that this agenda is not his, even though several key points are agreeable. The new DOGE won't be screwing over our citizens. It will, however, reduce a lot of wasteful spending and job positions within the federal government. So yes, some people will be losing their jobs. The departments and positions aren't needed. That doesn't mean SS and such is going to be defunded. I can assure you that we who voted for Trump will keep this man's feet to the fire. None of us want benefits cut for the elderly who have paid into those programs all their working lives. What I see is the opposite. Those job/department cuts are a good thing because the money can be re-allocated to the social services which have been in neglect for years. I'm not talking about "welfare" programs, because they aren't lacking in funding. In fact, they're fraught with errors. The system is often abused, which leads to unnecessary spending. Those programs need overhauled so that they're not contributing to our country's downfall.

@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 Yes, there will be hardships. For federal employees whose jobs are redundant or not needed. Again, what you're speaking of isn't Trump's "agenda". The fact that you keep bringing that up is what led me to think (not assume) that you aren't getting truthful information from your sources. Honestly, I don't actually trust anyone. I do hope that they leave SS alone, or there will be hell to pay.
