Carol, you're learning situational awareness. Don't be afraid of it. Embrace it. Everyone should have an open and loving heart, but also keep their head on a swivel. Please don't live in fear, though. Don't let that rule your life. Just be aware of your surroundings and follow your instincts. GOD has a place for all of us at all times. I do strive to avoid high crime areas, of course. We should all use common sense. The challenge for good people is to address the worst areas in the community. Give a hand up to those in need. Mental health is a real problem in our country, and it really needs addressed without the aid of Big Pharma. Their meds are making things worse. Many of these offenders are victims themselves. That doesn't necessarily excuse their behavior, but it helps us to understand that there is a lot wrong in our world that needs fixed.
