  1. My mom just made a slurry with flour and room temperature water so it was very quick to make the thickener. We had a Tupperware shaker that was great but it isn't needed. As long as the water is room temp or cold, you won't get lumps. She'd do it in a glass and use a fork to mix it when we weren't using the shaker. You do need to boil the stew after you add the slurry so you cook off the flour taste. Your dish looked great, Carol. I would so eat that on a day like today. It is up to 25 degrees today so I guess I shouldn't complain. Lol.
