  1. +EricA Amato Neither is preferable all the time. The perfect job would be one that combined some sitting with standing and moving around. Standing in one place for hours on end can be especially hard on a person's body. Thankfully, most countries have labor laws which dictate that breaks must be given after a certain time; those workers who stand at jobs should definitely take that opportunity to sit down for a while, and maybe walk around for a minute or so. During work, they can usually have opportunities where they can do some stretching and things like squats so that they're keeping the blood flow going properly (to avoid things like varicose veins).
