@fabianschrotter So there are still people who think USSR broke up because of Afghanistan. Amazing.

@comatoseps1382 Breakup of the RF? Can you provide some basis for such utter BS?

Effect of overpressure on human body: "The human body can survive relatively high blast overpressure without experiencing barotrauma. A 5 psi blast overpressure will rupture eardrums in about 1% of subjects, and a 45 psi overpressure will cause eardrum rupture in about 99% of all subjects. The threshold for lung damage occurs at about 15 psi blast overpressure. A 35-45 psi overpressure may cause 1% fatalities, and 55 to 65 psi overpressure may cause 99% fatalities. (Glasstone and Dolan, 1977; TM 5-1300, 1990)"

@fabianschrotter The collapse would come even without the Afghanistan folly. It was long in the making. Thinking that one failed campaign can break up the country is naive to say the least.

@LateralTwitlerLT Yes, it's easy to google interesting facts, I wonder why you ask strangers on the internet to do it for you.

@Kevin Allies Not exactly remotely operated, you just point it in the right direction and set the throttle to maximum.

@LateralTwitlerLT "A single kilogram of dynamite can yield overpressure effects measured at more than 1,200 kPa (174 psi) at 1 meter and 280 kPa (40.6 psi) at 2 meters. The blast wave expands in all directions unless reflected or channeled by a structure. With expansion in 3 dimensions, intensity decreases in relation to the distance by a power of 3. For example, in open space, doubling the distance decreases the blast wave and reduces overpressure by a factor of 8."

@LateralTwitlerLT Maybe you should look up the word relevant, as you clearly don't understand its meaning.

@LateralTwitlerLT Well, this thread is very obviously about the effect of overpressure on human body. So please, how is tensile strenght of steel bolts adding anything to this topic? What information can we derive from your input, that could help us better understand the topic? I'm all ears, honestly.

What exactly is a lie?

@LateralTwitlerLT You asked me for an information, that is easily acessible online. I provided it to you and others for context. Anyone can do that, even you. Try finding some interesting and relevant facts and posting it in comments, some people may appreciate it. Others however will only come to yap and nag.
