  4.  @TARZANswings  FWIW that same song also says "He came to Sherwood Forest with a feather in his cap" and more importantly glen or glean was a term used throughout all of Britain in the middle ages... probably Celtic origin but used in Saxon England. Indeed Great Glen is in Leicestershire.

  5.  @TARZANswings  jolly aggresive old boy I was merely giving you some additional facts. Seems you are unaware of Great Glen the Leicestershire village or indeed Glen Parva just up the road. Both much closer to Sherwood than anywhere in Scotland.
