India, being the 5th largest economy.....so how much will India contribute ? A big fat zero....that is why India rejects the deal. India want other countries money but wouldn't spend its own. 100% way of Indian thinking.

@adithakur985 so what about the covid aid ? If it wasn't for that, millions more Indians would have died.

@Edu_Vi can India afford it ? "India’s envisioned monumental energy shift will be expensive. It will involve scaling up renewable energy installations, modernizing infrastructure, and improving energy efficiency across sectors. To meet its ambitious renewable energy targets, India requires formidable capital investment in solar, wind, hydro, and other clean energy-supporting technologies. India’s original Nationally Determined Contribution estimated that the country’s climate action would require USD 2.5 trillion from 2015-2030, roughly USD 170 billion per year. India will need cumulative investments of USD 10.1 trillion to significantly scale up its climate transition and achieve net-zero emissions by 2070. " Source Climate Policy Initiative

@adithakur985 so you want the western countries to sponsor you polluting the world ? Remember India is now the 3rd biggest emitter of greenhouse gases. This is even without industrialisation.
