@andreyhempburn sounds similar to the setup we used on the M47 "dragon" Wire guided AT missile.. The one the javelin replaced.. I was a Bradley driver, then gunner, then a fire team leader in the back.. and even the Bradley optics back then in the 90's were quite impressive though.. you could read people's name tags with the thermals at quite a distance.

@andreyhempburn yup, all our thermals were basically black and white.. in the Bradley we could switch back and forth from "black hot" to "white hot" and be able to pick a different details between. So we were trained to constantly go back and forth while scanning from the Bradley.. If I recall correctly there was only white-hot on The thermals for the Dragon.
