Boy, ain't that the truth. Here in Canada real estate is now 10.1% of GDP, and property values in our largest cities are among the highest in the world. Our traditional economy is based on resource extraction, but more and more we're depending on "paper profits on houses" to maintain growth when resource prices are down.
