  1. What a fascinating and intricate story! Thank you for this video explaining what's going on. I'm not sure I understand it all correctly, but it sounds the Egyptian government tends to live beyond its means and is only occasionally forced back to a path of greater financial probity when the value of its currency drops. This is a serious concern for them because they need so many imports. Their population density just can't be sustained through Egyptian agriculture alone, so by necessity they need to be a trading nation. On the plus side their geography and the Canal makes international trade easier for Egypt than it would be for many other nations. There are other countries in the world with similar challenges that have prospered. Taiwan is an island with a lot of people and not much in the way of natural resources, but they've carefully grown their economy over decades and become a financial powerhouse. So it's possible for Egypt to find a way out of its troubles. There are examples they can learn from. But it would take decades, and would require a technocratic government that takes pride in things like the educational growth of the populace, and not how many jet fighters or flashy mega-projects they have.
