  1. You have a very wise approach to life. I wish I could approach things the way you do, but I'm not there yet and may never be. If I was a YouTube creator I'd probably become obsessed with views and favorites and comments in a very unhealthy way. As for why people make "I quit YouTube" videos, that puzzles me. There are lots of reasons to quit YouTube (and YouTube is busily coming up with new reasons all the time), but I've never understood why someone would formally say that's it and effectively trap themselves so they can never change their mind. Maybe they feel a responsibility to the viewers, and need to explain why there won't be any new content? As a viewer I don't feel like any creator ever "has to" put out a video. If they do that's great and it makes me happy, and there are some creators who release videos so regularly they've become a part of my weekly routine. But if they miss a week or two I wouldn't hold it against them. Life happens to all of us. There's no obligation involved in this parasocial relationship.
