  1. They have to. We're not reducing emissions anywhere near fast enough, or at all in many places. If we want to avoid going over some irreversible climate tipping points we're going to need a massive carbon capture industry and maybe even geoengineering. The problem could have been solved with emission reductions alone if we'd started thirty years ago, but we didn't.
