  1. Sounds like the takeaway is that when these neurons in the anterior insular cortex are activated it leads to increased motivation in the mice. Unfortunately the researchers were activating the neurons electrically through wires inserted in their brains. Not a strategy that could be widely applied to humans. So we need non-invasive, side effect free ways to activate these neurons.
