That's true, but also deeply sad. (Maybe it's weird for someone from another country to say this, but I do admire your system of government and the ideals it's built upon.) The Supreme Court is supposed to be impartial. The fact that it's not impartial but is instead driven by the same political parties that captured the rest of your system is a serious problem. That makes the Court less relevant and less fair, and threatens it's future as an institution. But this isn't the time for addressing those kind of problems. Right now this is a time for survival, and heading off the Republicans as they try to bring everything down. And in that context I'm sure Biden will make an excellent pick. But it's still sad how choosing a Supreme Court Justice has become a sort of political beauty contest.
