It certainly isn't a good thing to have so many media and social media sites owned by a small group of billionaires, but the difference between that and having the companies owned by a bunch of shareholders is more a matter of degree than an absolute line between good and bad. The real problem is that everything is filtered through such a small number of media outlets and apps. Once upon a time the news media was far larger and more diverse, and public opinion was shared through millions of email list-servs and message boards. Now everything is funneled through a smaller and smaller gate, and that makes manipulation and censorship easier.
