Drunk Huckleberry Hound. :-) I don't know why Trump would talk to Woodward after Woodward already wrote a book critical of Trump, but he did. I can only conclude that Woodward has some kind of strange mesmerizing effect on politicians. Woodward tells them outright that he's recording everything, but at some point the interviewee forgets they're on the record and starts talking like they're two buddies having a conversation. He lulls them into being honest, and it even works on a liar like Trump. As for the President, this revelation makes it clear (in case it wasn't incredibly obvious already) that he views his public statements, and really any communication between the US government and its people, as a sales opportunity instead of an opportunity to inform. His government doesn't tell you things, they try to sell you things.
