  1. The problem with the third one is it invalidates the second one. If every movie has a twist that makes its predecessor pointless, audiences will stop caring altogether. They actually tried to go a different way with the fourth movie, but it was so different in style and content from the future we saw in the others that audiences felt no connection with it. The movies were like expensive fan fiction at that point.

  2. Oh, definitely. I just think there isn't any room to make sequels after T2, because Cameron concluded all the important storylines. T3 had to open things up again by invalidating the ending of T2, and there's only so many times you can do that before audiences stop caring.
