I'm not a conservative, so I can't agree with you on all your points. (For example I don't think that movie stars hate people like me and don't care what they say on Twitter.) But your main point is excellent, and I agree with you on that completely: the problem is the people who run the studios and make the decisions, because they're out of touch with modern audiences. That unnamed Disney executive you quote is making one fundamental mistake, probably because they don't want to accept that their values are the problem. It isn't just the segment of the audience that has been politicized that sees the messaging in films as a quality issue - it's everyone. The Marvels didn't fail that hard because conservatives checked out - everybody checked out, because general audiences have learned to identify "messaging" as the common factor in movies they don't enjoy. When the heroes are always girl bosses and the villains are always cowardly men there's no dramatic tension. You can predict the whole story just from who's cast in the roles. That's boring, and people have had enough of it.
