  2. Agreed, Kenneth Ferland. We need to prove that we can keep people alive in space for truly long duration missions before we actually send anybody out to Mars where there's no quick escape.

  3. Man, imagine spending a week in a can just trying to catch up to the LOP G. That's after spending a week in a can on the Moon (granted, the most exciting part of the trip by far), and however many days you spent on the LOP G and however long it took to get to Lunar orbit. That's probably a month or so in different sized cans...
