  1. Wait minute, didn't Tarantino become the director he is because he was a huge fan of movies, got a job in a great video store in LA and watched a zillion movies? I think the more accurate way of putting it is, it worked for him, but the odds of the average movie superfan or video store clerk becoming a good director are ... low.
