  3. It's not OCD. It's the right way, especially for a competition car, even more so for a lightweight one. The car doesn't drive itself. Many of the alignment results, and all of the corner weights, will change with the weight added.

  11. That jack's not a bad concept. I had a similar, but better built scissors jack that, with a nut welded to the input where the speed handle was supposed to go, a battery powered impact (uh, a few decades ago) could actually get a lightweight car up in the air for a tire change pretty quickly. Probably ran faster than the motor on the jack you had.

  31. There's an electric car in my area with a front (non-state) license plate that reads "ZERO EMISSIONS." I saw it at Publix, plugged into the recharging cord they provide there. Getting its electricity from the grid in our fair city, which gets it from a coal burning power plant.

  36. Lessons learned: Don’t throw away your legacy! If youngsters are going ape for the Integra R, don’t replace it with something not named Integra, and not with the R package as an option. Don’t rename the whole model line! Most people who buy cars aren’t paying that much attention. Even some of your customers. Don’t make ugly cars! People loved your high performance Type R and can’t forget it? Then don’t make your performance models Type S! Lexus taking your sales? Make a bigger car with a V-8! People are dumb and count cylinders. Even richer customers. I am proud of Honda for being conscious of fuel economy worldwide, but for business purposes, you can’t go wrong going BIG in America. Even Jeep took decades to finally build a Suburban-fighter. Europeans and the Japanese probably can’t grasp how much Americans just don’t care about mpg. (Honda/Acura customers, a little more, sure.)

  43. Toyota took forever to bring Land Cruisers here (in modern times.) It was like they were never really trying. Or didn't realize what they had. Oh wait, or maybe because a lot people going to a Toyota dealer for an SUV don't really want that level of capability. Danged if I know!
