Ryan is fine as it goes he knows his subject matter and obviously has the technical side; he saw an opportunity to turn that into money during the conflict, as did many others, including many Ukrainians who mysteriously skipped town and wound up in Western Europe. When he stays on technical matters he knows what he is doing, but he has to toe a line politically or he'll risk biting the hand that feeds him. He's a shill, but, he KNOWS that he's a shill, and I have a certain amount of respect that him. He may well reason, "If not me, someone else will take the money and parrot the same talk," he's American and culturally they're obsessed with money so it makes sense for him to take it.
