Companies that laid people off because of the pandemic are not trying to hire back the people they laid off. They are now trying to bring in people who they can pay less, not have to reinstate those employees seniority. Why not offer incentives for them to do so? I know for a fact the company that laid me and my fellow Managers off is now hiring “Manager Trainees” instead of bringing us back.
