so we want a nation that largely doesnt follow maori tradition that doesnt speak maori have control of what a document in te reo means ?. this is a bad idea history tells that all documents interpreted by people outside the language and culture mis interpret it. The bible is one of the most famous documents that does it

@simondobson5278 historically speaking skirmishes between maori were not over land but honor and past grievances. We werent the type to just smoke people and take everything. That only happened after Pakeha influence

@simondobson5278 we weren't stupid bro we knew that if we didnt have muskets we didnt stand a chance in warfare. the musket wars were fueled by the need to stay technologically relevant in the new type of warfare pakeha brought with them. And to get muskets you traded maori heads

@jamescooper-hope6930 no im making a omparison between the mistranslation of our treaty and a document that was mistranslated by people who didnt speak hebrew and and defined passages as they saw fit. You need to work on you ability to contextualize whats being said correctly

@simondobson5278 your talking about the musket wars they werent land wars they were wars driven by trade for muskets. 1 maori head was worth one musket to pakeha
