Besides don't all candidates get more media exposure, and sell books when they run? What's new there? I don't personally know what the litmus test should be fore any candidate, but I would say that her body of work seems at least to evince her walking her talk. As to strategy versus conscience, I'm Canadian, and I think Americans have to make up their own minds on that one.

She recently called out my Prime Minister on one of his many ridiculous statements which I appreciated, even though I'm mostly a total leftie. I was always more for Marianne though.. Tulsi was all about calling it out, but providing no alternative vision. Marianne can actually articulate a peace plan.

I keep hearing an argument that if people are too long in the house, they get out of touch with the people. Marianne at least has spent most of her career, working with, and trying to help the beleaguered, personally.

She has an extraordinary bulk of political, philosophical, and historical information, not only memorised, but evidently comprehended, and applied to her policies, as well as her advocacy and philanthropic work.

For example, he was able to be sworn in without his taxes being released. I thought that wasn't possible before Trump. You might be referring to corporate executive experience, but I'm not sure that's so beneficial on the left. One quality I'd like to see in a leader, is some experience working personally with the common man. The reason Marianne is seeking political office, is that in her career as a councilor, she kept encountering suffering that was a result of bad public policy. One complaint I often hear about people in Washington, is that they're "out of touch:. I don't personally know the cause, but I've heard it said, and deem it possible, that the people in Washington have formed a kind of symptomatic empathy with the big money interests they encounter every day.

My idea of a leader is a person who can get an all white audience to surge to their feet and roar in favour of reparations. A person who isn't afraid to outline bold innovative policies, and who's speaking style is so compelling, it's almost musical. If governments are supposed to serve the people, I think non profit humanitarian work is an encouraging sort of qualification. This lady not only started charities to help aids patients, but ministered to them with her own hands at a time when most of society treated them like they had the black death. That suggests courage to me.

However, Ms. Williamson (or "Womanson" as MSNBC likes to call her) has been advocating for progressive policies for years, and worked a lot on grass roots movements and arranged for AIDS patients, not only to get food, but to get massage, during the outbreak in the eighties. I think her compassion and practicality as well as her glamourous media presence have been consistent over twenty years.
