The BBC is government funded through the licence fee but they know very well the writing is on the wall for them as the government are scrapping the licence fee on the 31 December 2027, so the BBC now have nothing to lose and are clearly going all out. Expect some honest reporting on this conflict over the next few years, which makes a refreshing change for the BBC.
