Are you kidding? This is an organized effort. And it's not a secret, except for the citizens of Europe and the United States. Everyone else understands this very clearly.
Then there was Minsk, and especially Minsk-2, which, by the way, was modeled after the South Tyrolean autonomy. The Belgians could have very well related to Minsk-2. It stated that there should be autonomy for the Russian-speaking regions in eastern Ukraine. It was unanimously supported by the UN Security Council. However, the U.S. and Ukraine decided that it should not be implemented. Germany and France, who were the guarantors of the Normandy process, let it go. This was another direct unipolar action by America, while Europe, as usual, played a completely useless supporting role, even though they were the guarantors of the agreement.

I know all these people. I was a member of the Democratic Party. At the end of 2021, Putin put on the table a final attempt in two draft security agreements—one with Europe and one with the United States. The U.S. put its document on the table on December 15, 2021. I had an hour-long conversation with Jake Sullivan at the White House, who pleaded: "Jake, avoid war. You can avoid war. All you need to do is say that NATO will not expand to Ukraine." He replied: "Oh, NATO will not expand to Ukraine, don't worry about it." I said: "Jake, say it publicly."
