I have greeted people hundreds of times with both Sat Sri Akal and Namaste, but I don't even know what greeting is used in a Muslim house. I have friends from Amritsar and a good friend wanted me to retire with him to Haryana where his family is from but I'm from Sweden.   9.  @sergpie  I would agree the opium was a primary reason if not the primary short term reason, no question, but the simple question long term is what does the opium market represent over the next 50 years vs. what is the lithium market? Synthetic opioids can come from multiple routes which do not involve poppies. There are chemical routes which are prohibitivly expensive but modified E.coli has been used to produce thebaine which is the precursor for oxycontin for example. You can do that in a nondescript industrial park anywhere.

How many years did the US remain in Afghanistan after that? The invasion was used to justify the "war on terror" which is absurd because terror is a tactic and you can't have a war on a tactic any more than you can have a war on the color blue. How much money had been spent on the "war on terror"? There is your answer.
