  1. Watching you tension the chain on your saw...there should be a square hole in the bar that lines up with a tab on the cover that holds the bar to the saw. You need to turn the screw at the front of the bar cover to aline with the hole in the bar. Once the tab mates into the hole on the bar, just loosen the two nuts, screw the bar tensioning screw until desired tension is achieved....the snug up the two nuts. THE ONLY SAW I have ever seen that was toolless was a STIHL my dad bought...to tighten the chain, it had a star shaped thumb wheel. It also had what I call Newfie start....you pull the chord, and it stores the energy and then releases it to turn the engine over. You tube channel CHICANIC did a video to convert these saws to normal pull.start. I prefer soft ice cream. Easier to eat.
