Not to the people. They make money with *the promise*. If I have 10 users in my cooking yt channel and you want to sell cooking pans, I can promise you to show your ads to all my 10 users and charge you for each user that might watch the ad. It doesn't matter how mamy of those users will actually buy as long as I have the statistics to prove that some might buy, statistically speaking.

@howiieb it's a multi billion industry because USA people waste a lot of money, which keeps owners' pockets full. Even when most people doesn't buy the expensive garbage they sell.

@howiieb apparently I'm at least smarter than most, according to you. I've never bought something advertised on the internet. Every product in my house is of a brand that's the best amongst the cheapest. I found it after a long search and none of those brands advertises anywhere. You're fooling yourself thinking people can't outsmart your marketing pals. Lol.

@aravindpallippara1577 believe me. They don't need too much data or battery to do their thing. My data plan is way worse than anything you can have, yet, from time to time, I get ads related to words said on my house. Compression makes wonders to reduce the size of data to send.
