Reminds me that I was earlier thinking whether the judiciary in Singapore is feeling sidelined/slighted by our government, after the passing of laws like the Protection frOm Falsehoods & Manipulation Act (POFMA) (where the government gave itself the power to declare information as fake & legally force the publisher to declare as such too, as the government claimed the judiciary would act too slowly in the face or the digital era (where information is updated more regularly)) & the Foreign Interference (Contermeasures) Act (FICA) (where if one wants to challange its invocation (e.g. if the government argues that information shared is other countries trying to interfere with local politics), the challenge won't be heard in a court, but instead by a minister-recommended tribunal. The government justifies this arrangement on the grounds that national secrets may be involved, but there's concern too I think that the tribunal won't be sufficiently independen)
