  1. Ukraine's desire to join NATO became stronger after Russia annexed Crimea. Before that during Maidan the main issue was to join EU. Russia's continuous aggressive behavior made things worse. Ukraine is unfairly targetted for having Neo nazzis simply because Russia has much larger number of Neo Nazzis in their army ranks and society. In fact Ukr Nazzi movements were all connected with Russia before Maidan revolution. Nazzi groups are everywhere including in Germany. There is no reason it should be a major highlighting point. What is often totally ignored in this war is Russia's neo nazzi or fascist ideologies. Putin over last several years have millitarised the Russian population and idolozed people like Ivan Ilyn or Alex Dugin. Ivan Ilyn was a fascist who fled Russia and who proposed that existence of Ukraine is a direct threat to Russian empire. Alex Dugin also proposes recreation of Russian empire. Putin follows and often quotes these people.
