Well looks like India messed it up. The fallout from this callous action will be immense. India has never gone to such extreme lengths in a friendly country. I guess way too much public support has gone to its head.

Its weird it feels like a lot of the industry sector in Canada is controlled by few conglomerates .. in telecom in grocery and in all of these sectors prices keep soaring while govt is inactive . Canadians pay insane amounts in phone bills and food bills compared to other countries. Yet no one does anything

@Giovanni-x1 I am not sure if tax revenues is the main reason. Squeezing tax out of citizen's pocket makes no sense because more telecom companies in a flourishing telecom sector will also generate more revenues and jobs. Why limit it to few big groups.

@Giovanni-x1 So the govt of any country do not directly benefit from subscribers. It benefits from spectrum auction. More companies will mean more competition to buy spectrum that will jack up the prices of spectrum. Govt will sell at higher price which would mean more money. On the other hand more companies with competitive pricing will help gain more subscribers , Canada is growing country with new immigrants coming every day. Its a win win.The current system makes no sense. Other countries have done it already with no reduction in revenues.

India is facing 45 year high unemployment crisis due mismanagement of last 5 years. In all possibility India is moving towards recession. It means more of your Hindu NRIs will lobby for Hindu rashtra in Canada and send funds from Canada too RSS.

I have stopped listening to western media shedding crocodile tears on journalist dying in a rival country .. these binaries do not mean anything anymore after what is going on in Gaza. They will cry , moan .. talk about democracy when it is someone else... for their own they will arrest you , fire you from jobs.. its not much different than Russia. So why bother ?
