@MaryGwenDungan you appear to think that the only trade RU can do is with western countries i.e. USA / EU. RU have realised they do not need the EU to trade with, they make more money and have better trading partners with the other 150 nations that aren't bullied and puppets of the USA. the EU on the other hand needs RU - for oil, gas, minerals, uranium, rare earth minerals etc.

yep, the USA guaranteed no cheap energy so the German steel industry would collapse and by offering tax breaks to relocate, these companies are packing up and heading overseas. Just as the USA have said thei will go to war with China - and destroy Taiwans semiconductor industry - all the while the USA is building semiconductor factories on US soil.
