Craftopia 2020 (same devs who made Palworld) has this exact mechanic. Which predates Nintendo JP Parent Patent 2021, since these new Patents are null and void by extention as it is from their 2021 JP Patent.

@r3gret2079 Actually, under USA Patent Law. You can not Patent anything preexisting. Under Japanese Patent Law, a similar regulation exists. Otherwise, there would be a swarm of litigation for Patents in Japan. You can only Patent your specific mechanical design, provided that it passes other factors. Not all nations will legally uphold patents.

Out of legal time for USA Patents to exist per file. Even WB was told of this by our Patent Office for about 2035, or up to 25 max years post Patent filing.

Case in point, Craftopia (made by the Palworld devs) predates Nintendo's Parent Patent by 1 year. If the law was properly upheld in Japan, then that Patent is null and void. Craftopia 2020 did not require a Patent, never will, never in legal obligation to do so. Patents do not work like that, even in America. It's why every Patent lawyers advises that when a Patent is created. That the Patent Holder checks that there is not another technology like it out there. Regardless of whether those technologies are patented within their State jurisdiction or not. Jeez... The gaming industry is my backyard. I know this very well and everything thyn has stated, has zero legality period. Because that is not how the law is. (What a waste of time. Go back to law school before talking again.)

@r3gret2079 Yes and no, because USA Patents do not protect the idea nor the concept etc. Only the hyper specific designs or the novelty of the design. It's how DE Warframe Lich System and WB Nemesis System (as well as the Sims games from the Sims 1) can legally exist. Of course, Patents in America do not have a Renewal option. It's 25 years max no matter what unless that design has governmental & national/public utility interests, etc.

Under Japanese Patent Law, most definitely under USA Patent Law, as Nintendo has USA Patent version of their Parent Patent filed in. This is the perfect example without a shadow of doubt. Unless the Devil wants to walk in. Sadly, this is Japan. They may ignore their own laws for their societal culture. Just as America has issues who how our justice system is now as it was then, in history.

The same devs who made Craftopia, who now create Palworld, have legal evidence to null and void these Patents. If the Law was upheld properly, then this lawsuit has no legal standing. Alas, malevolence is at play. Which I am amused... "If you're going to the play the game of law, then you should at least know the law." Something Nintendo has forgotten and their only hope is the culture of Japan to "ignore their own laws". What a joke of a government.

For one, these Patents are directly from the 2021 Parent Patent under Japanese Patent Law and under USA Patent Law for some versions. For two, at least in America, these Patents are null and void even if it was approved. As not all approved Patents survive the USA Court when challenged. For three, if the Pokémon IP in relation to the concept of the wish to Patent has already (under USA Patent Law) ran out of legal time because it's been over 20 to 25 years of that concept of monster catching & taming. Everything thyn stated is not even of a legal nature. And at least Japanese Patent Law does legally uphold Parent Patents with Renewable Options, unlike USA Patent Law which does not do both. (To explain simply)... Oh, speak on the law if one is to have a conversation with me. Otherwise, don't waste my time with meaningless excuses. I know very well of corruptions at play. Again, Patent Trolls wrote the regulatory examples for us in America. This lawsuit is not so unique. And no, ideas and concepts is not "first dibs" for Patents. The lawsuit is thrown out because of Craftopia 2020, which predates the original Nintendo 2021 Patent. As well as Prior Art USA of the GTA 3d Pokémon Mod. But as JP lawyers say. This is to be expected that Nintendo can win on a high chance because of culture. That outcome doesn't play out in the USA. (Again. It's nothing new to me when it first began. It is not the first time that patent lawsuits are this way.)

Well, this is JP Courts. JP lawyers are right on the money with how their system works. Unlike in the USA, to where Nintendo is trying to apply the same Patents here. Which is null and void, given Prior Art of Craftopia 2020 and GTA 3d Pokémon Mod that noth predate 2021 Original Nintendo JP Patent. And since USA Patent Law is specific in filing in the USA only. Those new patents (as the original Patent is not filed in the USA) are null and void because of Prior Art, even more so.

Prior Art Patent regulations makes that Parent Patent null and void because of a GTA Pokémon Mod and Craftopia plus a Minecraft Pokémon Mod. This is not Copyright Law but Patent Law.
